Tilachi vadi is a traditional Maharashtrian recipe. Generally it is made on Makar Sankranti. Tilachi vadi is made using sesame seeds i.e. til and gudh. This is very easy and simple recipe. Do try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. You also can like, share and subscribe.
Ingredients:
• 3/4 cup White sesame seeds
• 1/2 cup Regular Gudh / Light jaggery
• 1/2 cup Chickkicha gudh / Dark jaggery
• 1/4 cup grated dry Coconut
• 1/2 cup Roasted peanut powder
• 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
• A little Nutmeg powder
• Ghee
Method:
• Heat up a pan on low to medium heat.
• Add sesame seeds and roast until these get light golden color.
• Roast on low to medium heat only. Stir continuously while
roasting.
• Transfer the roasted sesame seeds into a plate.
• You can roast coconut too if you want.
• In another pan, heat up ghee.
• Add light jaggery and dark jaggery.
• Mix well and let the gudh melt well.
• Small pieces of gudh should melt and gudh also should melt well.
• No need make syrup. Just make sure gudh is melted well.
• Add roasted sesame seeds, dry coconut, roasted peanut powder,
cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and mix well quickly.
• Take a steel plate and spread some ghee on it.
• Transfer the mixture into the dish when hot and spread it well.
• Sprinkle dry coconut for garnishing and let the mixture cool down
a little.
• Do not let the mixture cool down completely.
• When the mixture cools down a little cut it into pieces.
• Tilachi vadi is already.
