Ganapati special modak recipe is here. Modak made from rice and maza. Surprised?? Thses look just like the ones those are store bought. These taste just awesome due to mango flavour. Why halwai name? Halwai is a sweet recipe prepared in Karnataka. We are giving it a nice twist to make these delicious modak. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup Rice
• 1/2 cup shredded fresh Coconut
• 1/4 cup Maza mango juice
• 1 1/2 cup Maza mango juice
• 2 tsp Jaggery / Gudh
• Chopped Dry nuts (Almonds and Cashew nuts)
• 4 tsp Ghee
• Pistachios (Optional)

Method:
• Wash rice really good 2-3 times and soak them in enough water for at least 2 hours.
• Drain all the water from soaked rice and transfer them into a blender jar.
• Add fresh coconut and blend it dry first.
• Add maza mango juice and blend everything into smooth paste.
• Take maza mango into a pan and add gudh.
• Turn on the gas and let gudh melt.
• Turn the heat to low to medium and add rice paste.
• Keep on stirring continuously on low heat.
• Add dry nuts and mix well.
• Cook the mixture on low heat stirring continuously until it comes together for about 10
minutes.
• When it begins to leave the edges of the pan and gets nice glaze add ghee.
• Mix ghee well with the mixture.
• When ghee is completely absorbed into the mixture turn off the gas and let it cool down
completely.
• Take the modak mold and place few pistachios slices along the edges.
• This is optional. You can skip pistachios if you don’t want.
• Fill the mixture into the mold and place a cashew nut or almond at the center.
• You can use gulkand or tutti frutti in the center according to your choice.
• Close the mold and remove excess mixture.
• Open mold and take modak out.
• Maza halwai modak is all ready.
• You can make 35 small modak from 1/2 cup rice.
