We will see how to make ghee at home today. Many people requested me to show this recipe. So here I am!! This is one of the most requested recipes. This is a traditional recipe. What I mean by traditional we will see all the processed starting from making curd from milk to making ghee from butter. We also will churn the curd to make butter with wooden whisk or ‘Ravi’ in traditional way. I will be giving you lot many tips and tricks during the video. You will get home made, nice aromatic ghee or clarified butter at the end of all these efforts. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Do not forget to like, share and subscribe.
Ingredients:
• 500 ml full cream / full fat Milk
• 1 tsp Curd
• 1 cup Water
• Pinch of Salt
• 1 tsp Water
Method:
• Heat milk on medium heat and bring it to boil.
• Let the milk cool down completely and transfer it into freeze.
• Take off the cream or ‘say’ and store it in a bowl.
• Store this cream in freeze and add new cream daily into it.
• When enough cream is collected add curd and mix everything well together.
• Keep the bowl aside overnight or a day at room temperature to make curd.
• When curd is ready add water and beat it well with wooden whisk until butter floats on it.
• You can blend it in mixer or hand blender.
• Collect the butter and transfer it into a kadhai.
• Put the kadhai on the gas and turn it on.
• Cook on medium heat until ghee is ready. Keep on stirring at regular intervals.
• When the berry in the mixture begins to turn reddish add salt and mix well.
• When the mixture looks transparent, turn off the gas and sprinkle water.
• By sprinkling water, the cooking process stops or slows down and ghee doesn’t get over cooked.
• When the ghee cools down a little strain it into a container. Ghee is ready.
• You can store it at room temperature for about 3-4 months.
