Worried about leftover rice? Nobody wants to have fodanicha bhat!! Here is the solution. Bhatache thalipeeth. It is delicious, crispy, easy to make and a good breakfast recipe. It is also a good option for lunch box.
Ingredients –
• 1 cup leftover Rice
• 1 tbsp Jawar flour
• 1 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
• Chili garlic paste (2 – 3 chilis and 5 – 6 Garlic cloves)
• Turmeric powder
• Red chili powder
• Cumin seeds
• A pinch Ajwain / Carom seeds
• 2 -3 tbsp finely chopped Onion
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
• Salt to taste
• Oil
Method –
• Take the rice the a dish and mash it with a potato masher.
• Add jawar flour, coriander powder, chili garlic paste, turmeric
powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, ajwain, onion, coriander
leaves and salt.
• Mix well. Make dough out of it.
• Take a medium size ball of the dough and roll it into thalipeeth
on a pan.
• You can use a bit of water or oil while rolling in into thalipeeth.
• Cook covered on medium heat for 3 – 4 minutes.
• Remove the lid and put some oil on the thalipeeth and also on
the sides of it.
• Cook uncovered for 5 -7 minutes or until it turns crispy.
• Flip over and cook for 5 – 7 minutes.
• Take out in a serving dish.
• Thalipeeth goes well with peanut chutney or curd.
