Today’s recipe is instant and delicious kharvas. Traditional kharvas is made from colostrum milk that is available in dairy. But you can get the colostrum everywhere or whenever you want. So here I am sharing instant kharvas recipe. It turns out nice and soft. This kharvas just melts in mouth. This is a very easy and simple recipe. It can be a good dessert!! If you follow this recipe, you can enjoy kharvas any time you want.!! No one will come to know that is it not made from colostrum!! We already have seen 2-3 kharvas recipes. This is yet another delicious addition to the list. Try this recipe at home and write to me. You also can like, share and subscribe.
Ingredients:
• 1 cup / 250 gm Curd
• 2 cup / 500 ml Milk
• 1/2 cup / 125 gm powdered Sugar
• 4 tsp Corn flour
• Few Saffron strands
Method:
• Place a clean cotton cloth in a strainer and pour curd in it.
• Place the strainer on a pot and cover the curd.
• Place a heavy weight on it and strain as much water as you can from the curd.
• Keep the weight on the curd for about 15 minutes.
• Take the thick curd out into a bowl.
• You can use the strained water to make kadhi or amti or to knead dough.
• Add milk, powdered sugar and corn flour and mix everything well together.
• No lumps of curd or corn flour should be formed.
• You can use jaggery in place of sugar.
• Line up a tray with butter paper and pour the mixture into it.
• Garnish with saffron.
• Heat up about 1” water in a steamer and bring it to boil.
• Transfer the tray into the steamer and steam on medium heat for about 15-20 minutes.
• Check with knife or toothpick. If it comes out clean, it means kharvas is steamed well.
• Take the kharvas out and let it cool down completely.
• Loosen the edges and cut the kharvas into pieces.
• Take the pieces out and kharvas is ready. It weighs a little more than 600 gm and no of pieces are
