Kadhi pakoda is a popular Punjabi recipe. It turns out nice and delicious. In this recipe onion pakoda are dunked in spicy kadhi and tadka is added to it. Kadhi is made from yogurt or buttermilk. You can call this tangy, spicy yogurt sauce. It is cooked on low heat for some time so that all the flavors are added to it. If you are bored of having the same sabjis or you don’t have sabji to make at home, then this is best option for you. It is a very easy and simple recipe. We already have seen kadhi recipe. Ingredients:
Pakoda
• 1/2 cup Besan
• Salt to taste
• 3 tsp Water
• 1 tsp Ajwain / Carom seeds
• Finely chopped Onion
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
• Oil for frying
Kadhi
• 1 cup Curd
• 1/4 cup Besan
• 1 1/2 cup Water
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp Ghee
• 1 tsp Cumin seeds
• 2 Cloves
• Cinnamon stick
• Fenugreek seeds
• Curry leaves
• Grated Ginger
• Chopped Green chili
• Water as needed
• Salt to taste
Tadka
• 1 tsp Ghee
• 1 tsp Red chili powder
• 2~3 dry Red chilies
Method:
Pakoda
• Mix besan and salt well together and add water to make thick paste.
• Beat the paste really good for about 3-4 minutes and rest it for about 10 minutes. Battar for
pakoda is ready.
• Add ajwain, onion, coriander leaves and mix well.
• Heat up oil in a pan and drop small pakoda in it.
• Fry pakodas well from all sides and take them out in a dish. Pakodas are ready.
Kadhi
• Mix curd, besan, water, turmeric powder and salt well together. No lumps of besan should be
formed.
• You can add sugar if you want.
• Heat up ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds. When cumin seeds splutter cloves, cinnamon,
fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, ginger and fry well for about a minute.
• Add green chili and fry well.
• Turn off the gas and add the curd mixture, water, salt and mix well.
• Simmer the kadhi on low heat for about 10 minutes.
• Drop the hot pakodas into hot kadhi.
Tadka
• Heat up ghee in a pan and add red chili powder and dry red chilies.
• Fry well and add this tadka into the kadhi.
• Mix well and kadhi pakoda is ready.
• You can have it with rice.
