Let’s see how to make traditional Marathi recipe botwadya today. At some places it is known as godwadya or shengole too!! We try to revive the old somewhat forgotten Marathi recipes. This is one such recipe. It not only looks tempting but also tastes just awesome. I have tasted the recipe made by our guest many times. And believe me, I am fascinated by that recipe every time. These vadya look really nice. As the recipe is a little time consuming, it teaches you patience. If you don’t have bhaji at home or if you want to tey something different, then this is a good option for you. Moreover, this recipe doesn’t need lot many ingredients. You can easily make it from very few basic ingredients those are readily available in your pantry. I think you should try it. I am sure, you will love it. Try this recipe at home and write to me.

Method:
• Dry roast coconut on medium heat until it gets nice golden color and transfer it into a dish.

• When onion is almost roasted, add garlic, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf and star anise and fry
together for few seconds.

• Add kala masala and salt and blend it together into paste first.
• Add a little water and blend it into smooth paste. Vatan or masala is ready.

chanadal in shape.
