डाळ तांदळाची उंडी बनवण्यासाठी लागणारे साहित्य
• १ कप तांदूळ
• १/४ कप चणाडाळ
• १/४ कप मुगडाळ
• १ चमचा तेल
• १/४ चमचा जिरं
• ११/४ चमचा हिंग
• लसूण मिरचीचा ठेचा (४~५ हिरव्या मिरच्या आणि १०~१२ लसूण पाकळ्या)
• १/४ चमचा हळद
• १ कप बारीक चिरलेला श्रावणी घेवडा
• चवीनुसार मीठ
• ३ कप पाणी

This undi is made using rice and dal. We already have seen one undi recipe that was made using only rice. I have given a healthy twist to Konkani undi recipe. This is a very easy and simple recipe. It doesn’t require too many ingredients those are easily available in your kitchen. It looks nice and tastes just yumm. This is a very healthy recipe as you can add lot many veggies in this and least oil is used for this recipe. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Ingredients:
• 1 cup Rice
• 1/4 cup Chana dal
• 1/4 cup Moong dal
• 1 tsp Oil
• 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp Hing
• Green chili-Garlic paste (4~5 Green chilies & 10~12 Garlic cloves)
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1 cup chopped French beans
• Salt to taste
• 3 cups Water

Method:
• Take rice, chana dal, moong dal in a bowl and wash it really good 3-4 times well with water.
• Drain all the water from the washed mixture.
• Transfer the mixture into a blender jar and blend it into fine powder.
• Heat up oil in a pan.
• Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
• Add hing, green chili-garlic paste and fry for about a minute.
• Add turmeric powder and mix well.
• Add French beans and mix well.
• Add the blended powder, salt and mix well.
• When the mixture is fried well add water and mix well.
• Stir well and cook it until it dries well.
• When the mixture comes together like dough turn off the gas and let it cool down a little.
• Take small portion from the mixture and roll it into undi.
• Grease a dish well with oil and transfer the undi on it.
• You can keep the mixture ready previous night and steam undi next morning.
• Heat up water at the base of the steamer and transfer the undi into it.
• Close the lid and steam undi on medium heat for about 15 minutes.
• Turn off the gas and let the undi be in the steamer for another 10 minutes.
• Open the lid and take undi out. Transfer the undi into a dish.
• While serving, add a little ghee and a little red chili powder into each undi and serve with green
chutney and tamarind chutney.
• You can use oil in place of ghee.
• This can be a good lunch box or breakfast option.
