Let’s see how to make traditional recipe tandalachya pithachi ukad today. This is a traditional, authentic Maharashtrian recipe. It is a very easy and quick recipe. As the name suggests it is made from rice flour. After having heavy Diwali faral and sweets, one feels like having something light on stomach yet filling. This is one such recipe. It is so quick that you can make it in a jiffy. It tastes a little spicy and tangy. It can be a healthy and quick breakfast or any time snack option. Though easy and simple, I can assure you that it will satisfy your taste buds!! Try this recipe at home and write to me. You also can like, share and subscribe.
Ingredients:
• 1 tbsp Ghee
• 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• A pinch of Hing
• Green chili-Ginger paste (3 Green chilies & 1” Ginger)
• Curry leaves
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1 1/2 cup / 375 gm Buttermilk
• Salt to taste
• Sugar to taste
• 1/2 cup / 80 gm Rice flour
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
Method:
• Heat up ghee on medium heat in a pan and add mustard seeds.
• When mustard seeds pop up, add cumin seeds, hing and green chili-ginger paste and fry well.
• Add curry leaves, turmeric powder and fry well.
• Add buttermilk, salt and sugar and mix well.
• When the mixture is hot enough, add rice flour and mix in quickly. No lumps of rice flour should be
formed.
• Cook the mixture on low heat until it thickens up. Make sure to stir the mixture continuously while
cooking.
• When the mixture thickens up really good.
• Cover and steam it for just about 5 minutes.
• Add coriander leaves and mix well. Tandalachya pithachi ukad is ready.
• While add ghee or oil on it. You can have it for breakfast or lunch or any time quick snack.
