Chana dal masala is a very easy and simple recipe. This can be a good lunch box option. If you don’t have sabzi at home then this can be a saviour for you. Just soak chana dal for few hours and you can make this chana dal masala. Addition of a secret masala will give it an awesome twist. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Ingredients:
• 2 tsp Oil
• 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• A pinch of Hing
• 7~8 Curry leaves
• 1 finely chopped Onion
• 1/2 tsp Goda masala
• 1 tsp Coriander powder
• Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp Red chili powder
• 1/4 cup Chana dal
• Salt to taste
• 1 sachet Maggie Masala-ae-Magic
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
Method:
• Heat up oil in a pan.
• Add mustard seeds and let them pop up.
• Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
• Add hing, curry leaves, onion and mix well.
• Fry on medium heat for about 6-7 minutes until onion gets light
golden color.
• When onion is fried well add goda masala, coriander powder,
turmeric powder, red chili powder and mix well.
• Wash chana dal really good 2-3 times and soak it in enough water
for about 6-7 hours.
• Add soaked chana dal along with water in it, salt and mix well.
• Salt quicken the process of cooking the dal.
• Don’t add much water as we want to make dry sabzi.
• Add water just enough to cook the dal.
• Cover and cook on medium heat for about 15-17 minutes.
• When dal is cooked well add Maggie Masala-ae-Magic and mix
well.
• Cook for just another 2 minutes.
• Garnish with coriander leaves and chana dal masala is all ready.
• You can cook this dal in cooker until just 1 whistle.
• It goes well with chapatti, rice.
