Today, let’s see how to make Dipavali special Malai burfi. Of course, you can make this burfi on any other days than Diwali too!! This is a popular Indian sweet dish. As the name suggests, the main ingredient is malai. You must be thinking, how much malai do we need to make it and how can one manage that!! But no worries, I am here with the solution. I am sharing a very easy and simple recipe. This burfi turns out nice and soft. It just melts in mouth. It needs juts 3 ingredients!! Isn’t it amazing!! Try this recipe at home and writer to me. Ingredients:
• 1 1/2 cup / 300 gm Sugar
• 3/4 cup Water
• 3 cups / 375 gm Milk powder
• 1/4 cup / 60 gm Ghee
• Pista slices
Method:
• Heat up a pan on medium heat and add sugar and water.
• Mix well and cook on high heat until sugar dissolves.
• When sugar completely dissolves and the mixture begins to boil, turn the heat to medium and cook the syrup for another 5 minutes.
• Turn the gas off and check the consistency of the syrup.
• We need a little thick syrup than single thread consistency.
• Turn the gas on and add milk powder.
• Mix well and add ghee. Mix well and cook until the mixture leaves the edges of the pan.
• Turn the heat to lowest possible setting.
• Take a little mixture out into a dish and let it cool down.
• If you can make a small ball from it, it means that the mixture is perfectly cooked.
• Line up a try with butter paper at the base and pour the mixture out into it.
• Tap the tray well and garnish with pistachio slices.
• Let it set at room temperature for at least 1-1 1/2 hour. If possible, set it overnight.
• Loosen the edges and take the burfi out.
• Cut the burfi into pieces and malai burfi is ready.
• You can make a little more than 800 gm burfi from the ingredients used.
