• १/२ कप तूरडाळ

• २ मोठे चमचे तेल
• १ चमचा मोहरी
• १ चमचा जिरं
• चिरलेली लसूण
• हिरव्या मिरचीचे तुकडे
• कढीपत्ता
• बारीक चिरलेला कांदा
• चिमूटभर हिंग
• १/२ चमचा मेथ्या
• २ बारीक चिरलेले टोमॅटो
• १ चमचा हळद
• जरुरीनुसार पाणी
• चवीनुसार मीठ
• चवीनुसार गूळ (ऐच्छिक)
• बारीक चिरलेली कोथिंबीर

Today we are making fodaniche varan that too aaichya hatache. Aaichya hatache means made by mom. This is one of the favorite dishes in our home. It looks nice and tastes super delicious. This is a very easy and simple recipe. We already have seen different varan and dal and aamti recipes. This is yet another delicious addition to the list. This is an on-demand dish in our home. We can have it all seven days of the week of course if made by aai. It is not only tasty but also healthy recipe. I have shown fodniche varan recipe. Let’s see how my mom makes it!! Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup Tur dal
• 1 cup + little more Water
• 2 tbsp Oil
• 1 tsp Mustard seeds
• 1 tsp Cumin seeds
• Chopped Garlic
• Chopped Green chilies
• Curry leaves
• Finely chopped Onion
• A pinch of Hing
• 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
• 2 finely chopped Tomatoes
• 1 tsp Turmeric powder
• Water as needed
• Salt to taste
• Gudh to taste (Optional)
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves

Method:
• Wash turdal really good 3-4 times and add water.
• Close the lid and cook the dal on high heat for 5 minutes.
• Lower the heat to low and steam the dal for 10 minutes.
• You can cook the dal on medium heat until 2-3 whistles.
• Beat the dal really good and keep it aside.
• Heat up oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
• When mustard seeds pop up add cumin seeds, garlic and fry until garlic turns golden.
• Add green chilies and mix well.
• Add curry leaves, onion and fry well until onion begins to turn light golden.
• Add hing, fenugreek seeds and mix well.
• Add tomato and fry everything well together until tomatoes are cooked soft.
• Add turmeric powder and mix well.
• Add cooked dal, water to adjust the consistency and mix well.
• Add salt and mix well.
• Add gudh, coriander leaves and mix well.
• Adding gudh is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
• Simmer the varan well on medium heat and fodniche varan is ready.
• Serve it with rice and lot of ghee.
