Aliv ladoo is an authentic, traditional Maharashtrian recipe. This is very healthy specially in winter. This can be good option for kids’ tiffin. Adding gudh makes it healthier. Try this delicious and healthy recipe and write to me. You also can like, share and subscribe.
Ingredients:
• 100 gm Aliv
• 1 cup Coconut water
• 3 cups Grated fresh Coconut
• 1 cup Gudh / Jaggery
• 1 tbsp chopped Almonds
• 1 tbsp Chopped Cashew nuts
• 1/4 tsp Nut meg
Method:
• In a bowl take aliv. Add coconut water and mix well.
• Coconut water gives nice flavour to ladoos.
• You can use regular water too.
• Cover and rest it for 2 hours.
• Heat up a pan on medium heat.
• Add fresh grated coconut, soaked aliv, gudh, almonds and
cashew nuts.
• You can skip dry fruits if you don’t want.
• Mix well and cook on medium heat until the mixture comes
together really good and leaves the sides of the pan.
• After cooking for about 15 minutes, the mixture will come
together.
• Turn off the gas and grate nut meg in it. Stir well.
• You can add cardamom powder instead of nut meg.
• When the mixture cools down a little, roll the ladoos.
• Do not let the mixture cool down completely or the ladoos won’t
be rolled.
• These ladoo will remain good at room temperature for about 4-5
days.
• These will remain good in air tight container in freeze for about 8-
15 days.
Tips:
• You can use coconut water that we get while grating coconut or
you can use tender coconut water.
• Never but nut meg powder from market as is has lost the flavour.
Try to buy whole nut meg.
