Revdi was one of the favorite recipes of Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Sawarkar. We are making revdi on the occasion of Sawarkar Jayanti. Jayanti means birth anniversary. This is our way to express our gratitude towards him. We got this information for his grandson. We thank him for that. The other dishes he liked are kadboli, bhajaniche thalipeeth, jalabi, fish and eggs too. Today we are making revdi. This is a healthy and testy recipe. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Do not forget to like, share and subscribe.
Ingredients:
• 1 cup Gudh / Jaggery
• 1/4 cup Water
• 1 tsp Ghee
• Maida
• Roasted white Sesame seeds
• White Sesame seeds
Method:
• Heat up a pan on medium heat and add gudh, water and ghee.
• Mix well and cook to make syrup.
• After cooking the mixture for about 5-7 minutes check the consistency.
• Drop a few drops of syrup into water.
• If it dissolves in water in means the syrup is not ready yet.
• Continue cooking for few more minutes.
• Again drop a few drops of syrup into water.
• If the drops remain as it is and if you can stretch it into a long thread then the syrup is ready.
• Grease a deep dish well with ghee and place it in another dish which contains water.
• Pour out the syrup into the greased dish and wait for about 5 minutes.
• Take the dish out and loosen the syrup from the dish.
• Rub maida to your palms and take the thickened syrup in hand.
• Stretch it well. At the intervals sprinkle maida on the syrup and stretch it again.
• If you want you can rub maida to your palms.
• Stretch it well for about 7-8 minutes.
• When the color changes to whitish add few sesame seeds at the center of the stretched syrup
and rub maida to your palms.
• Seal the sesame seeds and stretch again.
• After stretching for about 10 minutes when the color changes to white make an even roll.
• Cut it into pieces and make them smooth and even.
• Heat up sesame seeds in a pan and drop revdya into it. Keep them separated.
• Roll the revdi into the sesame seeds so that it will stick to the revdi from all sides.
• When the revdi is coated well with sesame seeds, take them out into a dish and let it cool down
completely. Revdi is ready.
