This combo meal with papad is comforting food
Serve this dal rice hot with ghee topping and onion curd raita
raw banana finger fry is so yummy crispy outside and soft
inside
water and some salt in bowl to put raw banana fingers
peel the skin
cut as fingers
dont cut so thin
medium sized raw banana fingers is boiled for 3-5mins
it should not be mushy or soft…it should be half cooked
drain it
2tsp chilly powder
salt as needed
few drops lemon juice
1tsp oil
no water added
mix well and add drained raw banana fingers
mix gently without breaking the raw banana fingers
marinate 1hour
3/4cup ponni rice
1/4cup toor dal
wash well and soak it for 30mins
frying papad
store in air tight box to retain crispiness
fry the marinated raw banana fingers
cook well both sides till it gets crispy in medium flame
3tbs gingelly oil
1/2tsp zeera
1/4tsp fennel seeds
5 garlic pods crushed
10 -15 small onions
3 redchillies
some curry leaf
1 tomato
tomatoes should not get mushy
hing 2pinch
turmeric 1/4tsp
pepper powder pinch
salt as needed
sambar powder 1/2tsp
tomatoes are not mushy
add water only for rice measurement and not for dal
2 1/2cups water
this water measurement will give you non sticky
fluffy dal rice
drained rice and dal
check salt
keep in high flame till steam comes
When steam comes , keep sim and put weight for 10mins
fluffy dal rice is ready to serve hot with ghee
