Drumstick Leaves poricha kootu kulambu | Healthy gravy

INGREDIENTS:

moong dhal 1/4 cup
1/4tsp turmeric
3garlic cloves
7 to 8 small onions
1tbs oil
3 tomatoes
salt-As needed
turmeric 1/4tsp
drumstick leaf 1cup
2 tbs shredded coconut(you can increase the
amount of coconut to 1/4 cup to enhance the taste)
1/2tsp zeera
1/2tsp pepper
1tbs sambar powder
ghee 2tsp
1/2 tsp mustard
1/2tsp urad dhal
1/4tsp channa dhal
zeera 1/2tsp
1to 2redchilly depending on your spice level
curry leaf and 1/4tsp hing

INSTRUCTIONS
drumstick leaf poricha kootu kulambu(gravy)
wash and soak moong dhal 1/4 cup for 30mins
you can do this gravy using any other
greens or vegetables in same method
add 1 1/2 cup water
add 1/4tsp turmeric
add 3garlic cloves
close cooker and keep in high. Steam
comes. Now keep in sim and put weight
cook for 10mins in sim flame
add 1tbs oil in hot pan
add 7 to 8 small onions
add onions and saute it
add 3 tomatoes
add salt
add turmeric 1/4tsp
take cleaned drumstick leaf 1cup and saute it
tomatoes mashed. Add greens
you can make this gravy using any other
greens or any other vegetables
add 1/2 cup water and cook it till greens
are cooked soft
add 2 tbs shredded coconut(you can increase the
amount of coconut to 1/4 cup to enhance the taste)
add 1/2tsp zeera
add 1/2tsp pepper
add little water and grind to smooth paste
drumstick leaf has light bitterness. To balance the
bitterness you can increase the amount of coconut in it
dhal is cooked well
after 7mins , greens are cooked soft
add 1tbs sambar powder
dont add more sambar powder
Add cooked dhal
add coconut,pepper,zeera paste
increase the amount of coconut to reduce
the bitterness of drumstick leaf
add required water depending on the texure you want
add required salt
after 5 mins. It is ready
add ghee 2tsp to pan
add 1/2 tsp mustard
add 1/2tsp urad dhal
add 1/4tsp channa dhal
cook till dhal becomes golden brown and
then add zeera 1/2tsp
add 1to 2redchilly depending on your spice level
add curry leaf and 1/4tsp hing
add this poricha tempering to kootu gravy
serve with hot rice with ghee or dosa or chapathi.
