Hi friends,welcome to madhu samayal
Dal Rasam and Potato Pickle Roast
serve hot dal rasam with hot rice topped
with ghee and sidedish as potato pickle roast
5tbs moong dal washed and soaked 30mins
add moong dal in cooker
water till 1 inch above dal
2pinch hing
castor oil 1/2tsp
keep in high till steam comes
soak small gooseberry sized tamarind in water
for 30mins and extract tamarind water
steam comes.Keep in sim flame and put weight
cook for 10mins
2tbs oil
1/2tsp mustard and urad dal
1/2tsp zeera
1/4tsp fenugreek
1onion
5 garlic crushed
1 red chilly
3 greenchillies
1/4tsp turmeric
2pinch pepper powder
1tsp chilly powder
few curry leaf
1 tomato
tomatoes mashed
remove dal water and mash it well
tamarind water 1/2cup
dal water some
onion tomato mix
add salt
cook till raw smell of tamarind goes (10 to 15mins)
garnish with coriander leaf
serve with rice and ghee
1/2kg baby potato washed
keep in high flame till steam comes
steam comes.keep in sim flame and put weight cook for 10mins
pouring cool water to cool down
peel off the skin
cut into pieces if potato is big in size
using pickle this way is wise option too
2tsp oil
1/4tsp turmeric
1pinch pepper powder
1pinch hing
1/2tsp mustard ,urad dal
some curry leaf
powder mix
boiled potatoes
i am using garlic pickle 2tsp
you can use any type of pickle
pickle has salt and spices in it .
so no need to add extra spice and salt
saute till it gets as roast
