I am Thenmozhi,Mom of madhu
4 Colorful Vadams
No artificial color. I have used natural colors
Tomato carrot Vadam
Ground rice sago flour 1 cup
3 tomatoes
1 carrot grated
1 tbs chilly powder
compound hing 1/4tsp is dissolved in1tbs water
Instead ,you can also use hing powder 1/4tsp
1 tbs zeera
Salt as needed
grind carrot and tomato into fine paste
strain the puree
used 3 cups water for mixing
chilly powder

whisk well to get lump free mix
add 4 cups of water and boil it
Reserve 1 cup of hot water from it to use it if
needed further while cooking
Hing water or hing powder
take out 1 cup hot water to use it if needed
Add lump free mix to boiling water and stir often
to avoid any lumps.cook in sim flame
cook well till it gets thicken
salt
It should cook well and get glossy
adding the reserved hot water for about 1/2cup
Total water added for 1 cup of rice sago flour =6 1/2cups
(including mixing to paste+cooking)
It is glossy now
1/4lemon juice added before you off the stove
Pour vadams on wet damp cloth in hot sun in terrace
or balcony and let it dry well for 1 day in sun
Beautiful color
let it dry in sun for 1 day
After 1 day sun dry, Remove vadams from cloth
by sprinkling water at backside of the cloth
let it soak few seconds and then peel easily
peel gently
let it dry for another day in sun
DRY IT TILL IT GETS CRISPY AND MOISTURE FREE
fry vadams in hot oil in sim flame
So yummy tomato vadam
I got 45vadams from 1cup of rice sago flour
Lets see next color vadam
Mint Vadam
rice sago flour 1cup( which we prepared at the
beginning of this video)
Mint leaf 1 handful
coriander 1/2handful
2 greenchillies
1inch ginger
This combo is always tasty
1tbs zeera
salt as needed
hing water 1 tbs or hing powder 1/4tsp
1/2lemon juice
grind mint,greenchilly,coriander into fine paste
strain the paste
Total water measurement for perfect vadam
consistency is 7 cups of water for 1 cup of rice sago powder
add 3cups for mixing into paste and
then another 4 cups while cooking
Mix well as lumpfree mix and pour to boiling water
stir often to prevent lumps in sim flame
Total cooking time is 20mins to get right consistency
cook well till it gets thicken
salt
It should cook well and get glossy

It is glossy now

Pepper vadam
All are very healthy too
same as previous but add pepper powder instead of chilly powder
Beetroot vadam
Beetroot grated 1 cup
1tbs zeera
salt as needed
hing water 1 tbs or hing powder 1/4tsp
Chilly flakes(coarsely ground redchillies) 3/4tbs
1/2lemon juice
grind beetroot into fine puree and strain it
same as previous one
You can do business if you do this vadams tasty
and of good quality
Vadam business is good idea too
Store bought ones can have artificial food color
Homemade is always healthy
Vadams are very easy and water measurement
is very important
Monthly once sun dry these stored vadams
to increase their shelf life
store in air tight box for 1 year
