Hi friends,welcome to madhu samayal
seeraga samba ven pongal
Normally we do ven pongal with raw rice.This
will give nice aroma because of seeraga samba
1/2cup moong dal
zeera samba rice has unique aroma in it
1cup seeraga samba rice
you can use raw rice instead of this rice
add roasted moong dal with rice and wash well
soak well for 20mins
add drained rice dal to cooker
1/2tsp zeera crush and add for flavor
1tsp ginger chopped
water measurement for pongal
double the amount of rice+ dal + 2 (for medium mashed consistency)
double the amount of rice+ dal + 3(for well mashed consistency)
i used 5 cups of water for 1 1/2cup rice +dal
2pinch hing
salt as needed
keep in high flame till steam comes
steam comes.keep in sim flame and put weight
cook for 10mins
mash well in hot itself
3tbs ghee
1tsp zeera
1tsp pepper corns
10 cashews
2 slit greenchillies
curryleaf few
fry well golden brown in sim flame and add to
cooked mashed pongal
check salt .add powder salt if needed.Mix well
close the lid for 5mins and then serve
soft soft pongal
serve after 5mins with coconut chutni and sambar
