Description :

Masala idly
Ingredients:
Semolina/bombai ravva-250 grms
Eno-1 sachet
Salt
Curd-1 cup
Oil-3 tbsp
Cumin seeds-1 tbsp
Split black lentils-1tbsp
Split chana dal-1tbsp
Hing
Curry leaf-2
Chopped Onions-2
Chopped chillies-2
Boiled potatoes -2
Salt-1 tbsp
Turmeric-1/2 tbsp
Water-50 ml
Process:
1. Take a large bowl to add a cup of semolina in it …now add curd to it and mix evenly with some water.
2. Rest this for 30 min.
3. Now take a pan to add 3 tbsp of oil let it heated up and add 1 tbsp of cumin seeds,1 tbsp of split black lentils,1 tbsp of split chana dal, and some hing let all the ingredients fry and then add curry leaf also add turmeric and salt to it.
4. To the frying pan add chopped onions and chopped chillies. let them fry.
5. Now take boiled potatoes of large size and squeeze the pulp into the pan.
6. Give a good mix and add a little amount of water.
7. Let it cook for 10 min and set aside to cool down.
8. Take the batter and add salt to it mix evenly and add eno sachet powder to it.
9. Eno powder is for fast fermentation.
10.Mix properly and keep aside
11. Take the cooled masala curry into small balls and press in between your palms to a flatter shape. keep aside.
12. Take idly moulds and grease them with oil.
13. Fill each mould with a spoon full of batter and place the masala on it.
14. Close the masala with batter.
15. Place a Kadai or an idly vessel and pour some water place the idly plates inside the Kadai.
16.Cook for 10-15 min till the idly becomes soft.
17. Take out and cool down remove out from the mould.
18. Serve with peanut chutney and red ginger pickle.
