Methi Thepla a most commonly prepared delicacy from Gujarat is enjoyed by many in different parts of the country. The aromatic blend of masalas, its soft texture with remains as it is for days makes it a perfect recipe for travelling. Like all gujarati recipes this thepla too has sweetness added to it but not in the form of sugar or jaggery but instead a natural sweetner – banana is used here. The sweetness of banana compliments the bitterness of the methi leaves and makes it taste absolutely delicious. Perfect for kids tiffin or office lunch box, this recipe is sure to try!

Ingredients:
1 ripe banana
3/4 cup chopped methi leaves
1/4 cup coriander leaves
1/8 tsp carom seeds
1/8 tsp asafoetida/hing
1 tsp sesame seeds
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1.5 cups whole wheat flour
1 tbsp oil + for roasting thepla
salt to taste
water as needed to knead dough
