Onion Bajji | Onion Bhaji | How to make Onion Bhaji | Bajji Snacks by Hyderabadi Ruchulu

INGREDIENTS
1. Onions – 2
2. Besan Flour – 1 Cup
3. Rice Flour – 2 Tablespoons
4. Turmeric Powder – 1/2 Teaspoon
5. Chilli Powder – 1 Teaspoon
6. Salt – 1/2 Teaspoon
7. Coriander Seeds Powder – 1/2 Teaspoon
8. Cumin Seeds Powder – 1/4 Teaspoon
9. Ajowan – 1/4 Teaspoon
10. Baking Soda – A Pinch
11. Oil – For Deep Fry

To a bowl, add 1 cup besan flour, 2 tablespoons rice flour. Rice flour gives crispness. Add 1 teaspoon Chilli powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds powder, 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds powder, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder. Grind 1/4 teaspoon ajowan coarsely and add it to the mixture. Mix these dry ingredients dryly. Add a pinch of soda. Soda will make the bajjis puffier. By slowly adding water, stir the mixture into a batter without lumps. Let the batter sit for 10 minutes. Cut onions in the mean time. Cut onions in rings or in circular shape. Heat oil for deep fry in a pan. Dip onion pieces in prepared batter and fry in hot oil one by one. Fry on medium flame. Flip after one of the side becomes brown. Fry till they become golden brown in colour.
