Andhra Speciality Dal Recipe – Spinach Dal. Sorrel/Roselle Leaf even you can use palak to make this dal. It tastes awesome with a spicy and tangy taste. if you are using palak use tamarind syryp with that to get the tangy taste. It’s is called gongura pappu in telugu and it is one of the main recipe in andhra. gongura pappu or andhra dal is a definite try and it is very tasty.
Ingredients
Sorrel Leaf (Gongura) – 100gm, use Palak if Gongura is Not Available
Tur Dal – 1 Cup, for 4 Serve
Onion – 1
Whole Red Chilli – 2
Green Chilli – 4
Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tsp
Asafoetida/Hing – ½ tsp
Tamarind Syrup, If you are using Palak- 1 Table Spoon
Cooking Oil – 1 Table Spoon
Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1tsp
Coriander Powder – 1tsp
Curry Leaf – 8-9
Salt to Taste
