Ingredients:
To Make Homemade chole masala powder:
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
2 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
4 dried red chillies
1 teaspoon black peppercorns
3 cloves
1 inch cinnamon stick
small piece cinnamon sticks
small piece mace
small piece nutmeg
2 cardamom
To make the gravy:
1 cup dried chickpeas, soaked overnight or 4 to 5 hours & pressure cooked for 5 whistles
cook chole by adding 1 teaspoon tea leaf pouch, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder and salt to taste
1/2 cup cooked chole made in to a fine paste in the blender
2 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon crushed coriander seeds
1 teaspoon crushed fennel seeds
1 bay leaf
2 green chillies, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
2 tomatoes, puree
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon kashmiri red chili powder
ground chole paste
1/4 cup chopped coriander
Salt to taste
Tempering:
2 tblespoon ghee
1/2 teaspoon asafoetida
2 green chillies
