Ingredients
Soya Chunks – 1 cup
Pav Buns
Oil – 1 Tbsp
Butter
Whole Spices
(Cinnamon, Clove, Cardamom, Bay Leaf, Fennel Seeds & Shahi Jeera)
Onion – 2 Nos Finely Chopped
Green Chilli – 2 Nos Finely Chopped
Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 Tsp
Tomato – 4 Nos Finely Chopped
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 Tsp
Chilli Powder – 1 Tbsp
Coriander Powder – 2 Tsp
Cumin Powder – 2 Tsp
Pav Bhaji Masala – 2 Tsp
Garam Masala – 1 Tsp
Salt – 2 Tsp
Water
Cooked Green Peas – 1/4 Cup
Chopped Coriander Leaves
Method:
1. Wash the soya chunks and boil them in water with salt for about 10 mins.
2. Strain the soya chunks and squeeze out the excess water.
3. Transfer it to a mixer jar and grind into a coarse mixture.
4. Take oil and butter in a wide pan. Add the whole spices and saute for about a minute.
5. Add onions, green chilies and saute until the onions are golden brown in colour.
6. Next add the ginger garlic paste and mix well. After that, add the tomatoes and cook until they are mushy.
7. Now add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, pav bhaji masala, garam masala, salt and mix everything well. Saute for 5 mins.
8. Add the ground soya chunks, mix and add 1 cup of water.
9. Mix well and add the cooked green peas. Mix and add 1 more cup of water.
10. Mix well and cover the pan with a lid. Cook the gravy for 10 mins on a medium low flame.
11. Lastly add chopped coriander and butter. Mix well and check for seasoning.
12. Cut the Pav buns into half. Put some butter on the hot tawa and add chili powder, coriander leaves and mix well. Place the buns on the tawa and toast them on both sides.
13. Now add 1 more cup of water to the Soya Kheema, heat up, mix and serve it hot along with toasted Pav buns, chopped onions and lemon slices.
