Sambol 2 Ways
Ingredients
For Pol Sambol
Red Chili – 6 nos
Shallots
Grated Coconut – 1 cup
Rock Salt
Juice of 1 lemon
Sugar – 1/2 Tsp (optional)
For Masi Sambol
Red Chili – 8 nos
Grated Coconut – 1 cup
Shallots – 8 nos
Rock Salt
Sugar – 1/2 Tsp
Dry Fish Powder – 2 Tbsp
Juice of 1 lemon
Gingelly oil
Turmeric powder – 1/4 Tsp
Method
Pol Sambol
In a pestle and mortar, add red chilies, shallots, grated coconut, rock salt, lemon juice, sugar, dry fish powder
Pound everything together
Pound till you get a coarse mixture
Serve it with hot steamed rice
Masi Sambol
In apestle and mortar, add red chilies, shallots, grated coconut, rock salt, lemon juice, sugar
Pound everything together
Pound till you get a coarse mixture
Heat a some oil, add the pound mixture
Fry till you get a dry mixture
Add turmeric powder, oil and stir fry it
Serve it with hot steamed rice
