Rice Pancakes | Ventuno Home Cooking

Rice Pancakes Recipe
Ingredients: Cooked Rice – 1 cup
Rice flour – 1/2 cup
Oil – 1 tbsp
Onion – 1 no. finely chopped
Mustared seeds – 1/2 tsp
Urad Dal – 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida powder- 1/4 tsp
Green chilli – 1 no.
A piece of chopped Ginger
Salt to taste
A few Coriander leaves

Method:
Saute the ingredients
1. Heat oil in a kadai
2. Add the mustard seeds, urad dal, asafoetida powder
3. Add the onions, green chilli, ginger and saute well.
4. Once the onions turn transparent turn off the stove and keep aside

Grinding the rice:
5. Add the cooked rice, water and rice flour in a grinder and grind to a coarse batter
Add some more rice flour to get a thick batter of right consistency
6. Now add the saute’d ingredients, chopped coriander leaves and mix well
7. Let the batter sit for 10 minutes
8. Cook the batter on a non stick pan/tawa in medium flame. Add oil as needed
9. Turn the sides till its cooked.
Serve with any chutney of your choice

  • I made it and it turned out very good. I enhanced it by adding 2 tsp of diced edamame (soy beans), 2 tsp of sprouted moong beans in the blender and 3 tsp of shredded carrots in the batter. Thank you for your recipe and video editing is excellent. There's another variation of this called Pangi with rice flour – Sweet – with milk, sugar, ghee, or Spicy – with yoghurt, chillies, cilantro, cooked between banana leaves. Pangi origin is in coastal region of Maharashtra.
