Moong Dal Namkeen (Fried Crispy Moong Dal)
Ingredients
Moong Dal (soaked and dried)
Oil for deep frying
Salt
Chilli powder / Pepper (optional)
Method:
1. Soak the moong dal in water for 2 hours. Strain and dry it thoroughly
2. Heat oil in a kadai to boiling point
3. Take handful of dried dal in a wide sieve. Dip it in oil and fry the moong dal till its golden brown in color
4. Transfer to a container with kitchen tissue to absorb excess oil
5. Sprinke salt & chilli powder (optional) and mix well.
Done
Note: The dal must be completely dry before frying. Else it will absorb lots of oil and you might not get the desired crispness, in which case, fry again.
