How to: Broken Wheat Upma | Ventuno Home Cooking – VEGAN

Broken Wheat Upma Recipe – Vegan Recipe
Ingredients:

Broken Wheat – 1 cup
Carrot – 1 chopped
Peas – 50 gms
Onion – 1 chopped
Tomato – 1 chopped
Green chilli – 1 cut up
A piece of Ginger cut up
Water – 2 cups
Salt to taste

For Tempering :

Oil – 3 tsp
Urad dal – 1/4 tsp
Chana dal – 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
A few Curry leaves

Method:
1. Heat Oil in a pan, add Urad dal, Chana dal & Mustard seeds. Once mustard seeds starts splattering add Onion, Green chilli, Ginger & Curry leaves.

2. Once onion turns transparent add Carrot, Peas, Tomato, Salt & saute it for 5 minutes.

3. Add Water, for 1 cup of Broken wheat add 2 cups of Water.

4. Once water starts boiling add broken wheat & mix it. Cover the pan & keep the flame on medium low.

5. Wait till the broken wheat cooked & water absorbed.

6. Once it cooked, turn off the stove & serve hot with pickle.
