Thanks for sharing. I didn't add in any semolina / Rava as I don't have that, so I added in some flour as the mixture was too watery. I added curry leaves, cumin seeds , curry powder, pepper, salt, stock powder to give it a taste as we eat it with no curry. Thanks for showing your method of shaping and frying. I tested the batter by dropping a small ball into a bowl of water, if it float up, that's mean it is ok otherwise have to beat by hand to cooperate the air into the batter before adding the chopped onion. Happy Cooking !

I am really surprised that without adding soda salt, Vadai is bulged like one available in hotel. You told Urd dhal is to be soaked for one and half hours. How long it is to be grinded so that vadai would be so soft? Thank you very much.
