Sabut Masoor Dal is easy to prepare, delicious and healthy! It goes well with chapati, roti and steamed rice.
Ingredients (1 cup = 200 ml)
2 cups cooked whole red lentils/ sabut masoor dal
1/2 cup water/ paani or as required
2 tbsp oil/ tel
1 tbsp salted butter/ namkeen makkhan (optional)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds/ jeera
3-4 garlic cloves/ lehsun ki kaliyan (peeled)
1/2 inch ginger/ adrak (peeled)
5-6 curry leaves/ kadipatta
1 medium sized onion/ pyaaz (chopped)
1 large sized tomato/ tamatar (chopped)
1/4 tsp turmeric/ haldi powder
1 tsp red chilli/ lal mirch powder
1 tsp coriander/ dhaniya powder
1 tsp (1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp) salt/ namak or as per taste
1/4 tsp garam masala
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves/ dhaniya patte
1 tsp lime juice/ nimbu ka ras (optional)
