Katachi Amti Recipe | Authentic Maharashtrian Style | महाराष्ट्रियन कटाची आमटी

Description :

Katachi Amti is a type of spicy dal made from the leftover water while making Puran Poli. You can also keep aside some cooked chana dal and add it to Katachi Amti. As a child I always wondered what’s so special about a thin watery dal made from leftover water of chana dal. Little did I know how thoughtful our mothers and grandmothers are. This humble Amti as we call it in Marathi is filled with goodness of nutrition, taste and tradition.
Katachi Amti is especially made during the festivas of Holi, GudiPadwa, Pola, Ganesh Chaturthi & Diwali.
A true Maharashtrian Festival Thali is incomplete without Katachi Amti.
