Ingredients –
2tbsp yellow moong dal
2tbsp green moong dal
1 chopped tomato
1 chopped onion
2 cups fresh chopped fresh spinach
1 green chili chopped
1 inch grated ginger
1 tbsp crushed garlic
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp salt
1 tsp red chili powder
½ tsp garam masala
2 tbsp ghee
Method –
Mix both dals in a bowl, wash and soak for 30 minutes in water.
Add soaked dal in a clay pot, 500ml water, salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, chopped spinach, 1 tsp ghee. Give a stir. Cover and allow to cook on low flame for 20 minutes or till dal cooks properly.
Switch off the flame and keep aside.
Again heat a clay pot for tempering. Add ghee and heat on low flame. Crackle cumin seeds, add garlic and cook, add chopped onion, green chilis and cook on low flame, till it cooks properly.
Add red chili powder, tomatoes and mix, cook till tomatoes cook properly. Add cooked and boiled dal, give a stir, add hot water for adjust the dal consistency. Add garam masala and our healthy and tasty dal palak is ready. Serve with roti, chapatti or paratha.
