Ingredients –
250gram karela / bitter gourd
1 small raw mango (grated)
1 chopped onion
1tsp red chili powder
1tsp coriander powder
1 tsp salt
½ tsp turmeric powder
2tbsp Oil
Method –
Peel the karelas and make a slit in each karelas, remove ripe seeds from the bitter gourd.
Apply 1tsp salt and ¼ tsp turmeric on karelas and rub salt and turmeric nicely, cover and keep aside for 2 hours.
After 2 hours, squeeze them and wash them with water and squeeze nicely.
Now place them in a steamer and steam them for 6=8 minutes. Take them out.
Mix grated raw mango, chopped onions, red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt in a bowl. Stuff this masala in steamed karelas.
Heat oil in a wok, add cumin seeds, add stuffed karelas, stir and cover, let them cook on low flame for 7-8 minutes. Uncover and chech them, if karelas cook properly, switch off the flame. Enjoy them with roti, chapatti and parathas.
