Dear friends, Gram Masala (Copyright Protected) is almost a must part of most of Mughlai and Desi dishes.. Here is the formula of basic Garam Masala.
Cumin Seed: 4tbsp
Black pepper Whole: 3tbsp
Cloves (Laoung): 1tbsp
Black Cardamom: 4Pcs
Fine grind them and your masalah is ready to use.

Is a spice grinder and coffee grinder the same thing
Have we to clean the black ealichi and grind the seeds or put full black ealichi when grinding. Should we roast the masala before grinding.

I understand that we put 4tbsp of cumin seeds, 3tbsp of pepper corns, 1 tbsp of cloves BUT can I substitute black cardamom pods with small green ones? Likewise I was thinking instead of using 4 pcs of the bigger ones can I put 8 smaller ones? Also, if i want to make in bulk for future use in a sealed container, is this the measurements I use every time?
