Mutton chili is a flavorful and spicy dish that combines tender pieces of mutton with a rich, aromatic chili sauce. Here’s a basic recipe for making mutton chili:

Ingredients:

– 500g mutton, cut into bite-sized pieces
– 2 onions, finely chopped
– 2 tomatoes, chopped
– 1 bell pepper (capsicum), diced
– 3-4 green chilies, finely chopped
– 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
– 2 tablespoons soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon chili sauce
– 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
– 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon cumin powder
– 1 teaspoon coriander powder
– Salt to taste
– Cooking oil
– Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

1. Marinate the Mutton
– In a bowl, marinate the mutton pieces with ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Allow it to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

2. Cooking the Mutton
– Heat oil in a pressure cooker or a deep pan. Add the marinated mutton and cook until it turns brown. If using a pressure cooker, cook for about 2-3 whistles or until the mutton is tender.

3. Prepare the Sauce
– In a separate pan, heat some oil. Add chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent.
– Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
– Add soy sauce, chili sauce, and tomato ketchup. Mix well.

4. Combine Mutton with Sauce
– Add the cooked mutton to the sauce and mix everything together. Cook for a few more minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

5. Add Vegetables
– Add diced bell peppers and chopped green chilies. Stir and cook until the vegetables are tender yet crunchy.

6. Adjust Seasoning
– Taste the mutton chili and adjust the seasoning as needed. You can add more soy sauce, chili sauce, or salt based on your preference.

Enjoy your homemade mutton chili with steamed rice or naan bread! Adjust the spice levels according to your taste preferences, and feel free to add more vegetables if you like.
