Method:
Step 1.
Soaking Soya bean chunks.
In a bowl take soya bean chunks, pour 1 glass of luke warm water and let it soak for 15-20mins.
Step 2.
Dough making.
In a bowl take the maida and knead it in loose dough.
Step 3.
Stuffing.
At first squeeze the soya beans so that the water comes out and blend it in a blender to a fine texture.
Now, in a pan heat up refine oil. Add chopped onions, ginger, garlic and stir well.
Add Soya bean and fry. Lower the flame and add black pepper and salt and mix well.
Now, add soy sauce and white vinegar and mix well.
On a high flame cook it for 2-3 mins and then turn off the gas. Keep the stuffing aside in a bowl.
Step 4.
Making Momo’s.
Take a small portion of dough and with a rolling pin roll it into a circle (just like poori but not too thick).
Now, fill about 1 ½ tbs stuffing and close the rolled dough into a potli making fine pleats. (do the same for every Momo potli)
Step 5.
Steaming.
Turn the gas on and place a deep pan over it. Pour 2-3 glass of water and boil it. Place a lid inside like a fennel so that steam could come out of it.
Brush the lid inside with oil so momo’s don’t stick and place the momo’s over it.
Now, cover the pan with a lid and cook for 10 mins on full flame.
Check on the momo’s. They must have cooked and would be shiny to look at.
That’s it people, serve them hot with momo chutney or sauce or any dipping of your choice. Kids love to have them. So, enjoy. Happy Cooking!
Note:
1. Instead of soya chunks you can use granules as well.
2. If you don’t have a lid to steam, you can use a pot and cover it with a lid with holes and use it as well.
3. Do make fine pleats to close the seal of momos.
4. Serve them with dipping of your choice.
