Learn how to make kumbalanga pulissery / kumbalanga moru curry using coconut grated and beaten curd
INGREDIENTS

Kumbalanga / winter melon – 2 1/2 cups
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 3/4 tsp
Green chilli, slit – 4
Salt – as required
Grated coconut – 1 cup
Cumin seeds / jeerakam – 1/2 to 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds – 1/2 tsp
Dry red chilli – 2-3
Curry leaves – as needed
Beaten curd – 1 1/2 cups
Here winter melon is cooked with chilli powder, turmeric powder, green chillies and small quantity of water. A smooth paste is made by grinding grated coconut, cumin seeds, and water. The smooth paste is later added on to the cooked winter melon. Towards the end, beaten curd is added. It is followed by a process of tempering, which is then poured on to the curry. Pulissery onam sadya style is ready. Enjoy !!!
