👉Ingredients & Quantity
Rajma (Red Kidney Beans) – 1 Cup
Onions – 3 Nos
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Kashmiri red chili powder – 1 tsp
Tomoatos for puree – 4 Nos
Sugar – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Kasuri methi – 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
Mustard oil – 2 tbsp
👉METHOD
1) Clean the rajma by getting rid of any impurities, soak them in water overnight. Next day wash and drain it 2-3 times.
2) Add the rajma in a pressure cooker along with salt and water, and pressure cook for 5-6 whistles on high heat.
3) Heat mustard oil in a vessel, add cumin seeds, and allow Splutter.
4) Add chopped onions and sauté light brown, add ginger-garlic paste sauté for a minute.
5) Add turmeric powder, red chili powder & and coriander powder and continue sautéing, and make sure the masala doesn’t burn.
6) Add the fresh tomatoes puree and cook it stirring continuously till it becomes slightly thick.
7) Now add the boiled rajma with some of its water and mix well. Cover and cook for 10-15 mins on medium heat.
8) Next, add sugar, salt, kasuri methi, chopped coriander leaves, and garam masala, mix and cook for a few minutes.
9) Serve this with steamed rice of roti.
