■ Ingredients & Quantity
To pressure cook
Alsande Chavli (black eyed beans) soaked – 1 cup (250gms)
Water – 4 cups
Salt – 1/2 tsp
To Fry
Coriander seeds – 4 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
Black peppercorns – 10
Cloves – 5
Cinnamon stick – 1/2 inch
Dried red button chillies – 8
Mace – 3 threads
Onion (roughly chopped) – 2
Garlic – 6 cloves
Ginger – 1/2 inch
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Tamarind – lemon sized ball
Refined oil – 2 tsp
Main preparation
Refined oil – 3 tbsp
Onion (chopped) – 1
Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
Potatoes (peeled & cubed) – 1
Salt as needed
Sugar – 1 tbsp
Water – 200 ml to grind the masala
