  • We made this in foods class for a project on indian cuisine. We made the syrup with ground cardamom instead of a cardamom leaf and it turned out really good. Instead of khoya, we used butter because khoya is difficult to find where we live. When we went to deep fry the balls, they disappeared, so we added more flour, and tried again. This time, it was more like a bath bomb. It lasted longer than the previous attempt, but it still dissolved. To fox it, we added a lot more flour and baking powder, and put the dough (in ball form) into cupcake liners on a sheet pan. We also left one just on the pan to see how it would work. We baked them in the oven while it was preheating to 350 degrees fahrenheit. When we took them out, about 10 minutes later, they were the same colour and had some cracks on them. We tasted one and it turned out like short bread. It wasn't what we were aiming for, but it still tasted good. If you are going to make this recipe, USE KHOYA NOT BUTTER. Overall, excellent job and would recommend it.

  • I have a sweet tooth so I loved this recipe. I would like to ask two questions. 1) How much milk powder should I use if I want to replace khoya with milk powder? 2) Could I use rose water instead of lemon juice? Thanks.
