Coconut Chutney Recipe / Coconut Chutney South Indian style for Idli / Dosa

Coconut Chutney is an integral part of many South Indian Recipes like Idli , Dosa , Pongal , even snacks like Bajjis and Bonda are incomplete without this amazing chutney. This chutney has amazing taste and trumps all other chutneys in its ease and simplicity while being extremely versatile.

Ingredients:

1 cup grated coconut
2 tbsp roasted channa dal
4 green chilies
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 “ ginger
1 small ball of tamarind(gooseberry size)
1/4 -1/2 cup water
Salt to taste

To Temper:
1 tbsp oil
¼ tsp mustard seeds
2 dried red chilies
2 tsp urad dal(black gram)
Curry leaves

Directions:
1. Grind coconut, roasted channa dal, green chillies, cumin seeds, ginger, tamarind , cup water , Salt
2. To temper heat oil add ,mustard seeds ,red chilies, urad dal (black gram), Curry leaves
3.Add the tempering to the ground coconut paste and mix
