Punjabi Chole Ingredient;
i. Gram/chole/chic peas 1-1 ½ cup
ii. Onion ½
iii. Tomato 3-4
iv. Kassori methi, Amchur, Anardana 2 tsp each
v. Tamarind paste, sugar,Red chili ½ tsp each
vi. Bay leaf & black cardamom 3-4 each
vii. Cloves 6-8
viii. Black tea 2 tsp
ix. Ghee/ oil 4-5 tsp
This is Awesome Authentic Punjabi recipe of Delectable Main course Channa Masala.
Ingredients
1 cup Chole (Indian Chic Peas)
1 tea spoon ginger paste (Optional)
1 Medium sized Onion
5-6 Tomatos
Channa Masala Powder 1.5 teaspoon
Pomegranate seeds 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Red Chilli 1 teaspoon or per taste
Green Chillies per taste
1/2 teaspoon of tamarind paste
Soak it overnight in plenty of water. Pressure cook it along with 3 tea Bags for 3-4 Whistles.
In another Kadai, add 3-4 tablespoons of oil. Add Bay leaves, some whole Black cardamon to the oil. Roast for couple minutes and then add Ginger paste (optional).. Cook for 2 minutes and add one medium sized onion diced. Cook till Onions turn translucent. Approximately 5-7 minutes.
Add Fresh diced tomatoes OR tomato Puree to Kadai and then let it cook untill it leaves oil on the sides. Approximately 20-25 minutes
Put Channa Masala powder with pomegranate seeds along with some Salt, red Chilli powder.
Now transfer Boiled Chole in kadai and let it cook for 20-25 minutes adding some water slowly as needed.
Now add 1/2 teaspoon of tamarind paste and cook for additional 10 minutes.
