Recipe – Take any sack/polythene, put chali/ corn in it as it is and tie a lose knot of the sack and pop it in a microwave for 3 1/2 min, and after that give it couple of minutes of standing time, and then carefully remove the skin of corn and apply the spices of ur choice along with lime/lemon ( I have used black pepper, salt and some red chili powder). Really try out this simple way to get the feel of Abbu Challi at your home in just 3 minutes

  • No need for a plastic bag. Just stick the corn, in its husk, into the microwave oven, give it a few minutes, depending on how big the diameter is, then take it out. Wait for a minute or so, then chop off the fat end, squeeze the tapered end, and the cob pops right out leaving the silk behind in the husk! Now you proceed with the chaat masala, lime or lemon, butter, etc. I like a little Kashmiri Mirch on mine.

  • Couple of comments: Isn't putting the plastic bag into the microwave a fire-hazard?, and the final product didn't looked "charred" like the street vendors' end-product using sand/charcoal grill process.  However, does it taste close to what we experienced in India?
