Pepper pork ribs—Anglo-Indian style braised ribs perfect as an appetiser or as a meal with sides

Description :

Pepper pork ribs: We first had this at a friend’s place and fell in love with the peppery tangy taste. It was perfect as an appetiser. We got the basic recipe from our friend’s mom. Then while researching for this video we also came across Bridget White-Kumar’s recipe in one of her fabulous recipe books (links below). We combined the two recipes to create the recipe that you see here. As you can tell, this recipe can be easily modified to suit your tastes. You can make it sweeter and stickier, or make it more spicy, add other flavours and spices—the possibilities are endless. If you are new to cooking pork, we highly recommend this quick and easy pork ribs recipe.

  • Hi guys, could you comment about the usage of onions and garlic in Bengali cuisine (veg/non-veg) before 100 years or so..? Do you see a marked increase in their usage, also unnecessarily changing original flavours?

  • This looks so yummy. I often wonder what to make with pork other than the usual vindaloo and another curry my grandma used to make, I love ribs and chops and this would be a great way to do it. Wonder if braising in an oven would make it any different?
