The moghlai porota (or mughlai paratha) is a flaky, flour pastry filled with a mixture of beaten eggs, keema, spices, and seasoning. It differs from other stuffed porotas in that the filling cooks inside the porota and that it is layered. It is a perfect Bengali snack.

  • Mughlai parata has its origins in the Middle East—it is found in the Muslim regions of East Asia (Malaysia,Southern Thailand,Indonesia) where it is known as Murtabak…so its inaccurate to charecterise it as a “Bengali “recipe.
