Filter Coffee/Kapi +4 types of Coffee House coffees—How to use a South Indian Coffee Filter at Home

Description :

There is life before and after you have filter coffee. Once you have had great filter coffee, it is nearly impossible to go back to instant coffee. Coffee is a complex subject where every little thing matters–the type of coffee beans (Robusta or Arabica), where it is grown, how it is processed, how it is roasted, how fine or coarse it is ground, by which method it is brewed, at what temperature, and so on. But in this episode we are keeping things simple. This is meant to be an introduction to real coffee–using a basic South Indian coffee filter and how to use the coffee decoction to make a cup of coffee at home.

  • why do people use cream this i don't understand …. milk is the only one that will not spoil or alter the taste of the coffee.
then again still better than those who mix wine, liquor, milk tea or god forbid EGGs.
those are cocktails mix NOT coffee.
    btw thanks for the vid

  • I am a Bengali but have lived most of my life in South India and everything I see the name 'South India' pop up in any video I just get really excited…so recently I bought some filter coffee powder and I know nothing about coffee. The first time I made it didn't taste good. After watching your video I learnt that I need a coffee filter 🙁 need to go buy one soon. Don't want to waste my coffee… I loved this video. • Excellent way of showing the ingredients as compartment of cup/glass. A viewer can better understand the quantity of ingredient. And thanks for clearing my confusion regarding the types of coffees.

  • Seeing a lot of questions about this, so stopping by as a Kolkata Tam/Mallu hybrid to say that if you want to buy a coffee filter, go to the Lake Market utensil stores. And go to Durga Bhandar (Lake Market), or Ashok Stores (Deshapriya) for good Tamil filter coffee. I'm yet to find a place for Coorgi or Chikmaglur coffee in the city, if anyone knows of a place PLEASE spill the beans! 😀
