This also known as Plate idli.Making this is not a big deal.Now i have shown you how to prepare easy and tasty Thatte idli.No need of using thatte idli stands , you can use small plates for preparing idli.This is famous in Bidadi and Tumkaru(Kyathasandra)

Ingredients needed are

Idli Rice – 4 cups
1 cup- Urad Dal
1 cup – Puffed rice
1/2 cup -Sabudana
1/2 tsp- Cooking Soda ( optional )
Salt
Oil
Method for preparing thatte idli
Soak Idli rice ,Sabudana for 6 hrs and soak Puffed rice,Urad dal for 1 -2 hrs. After soaking it blend all into a fine batter. Then leave it overnight for fermentation. Then Add it to plates. The batter should be only ½ of the plate. Then in a cooker add water to the bottom and place the thatte idli stand inside the cooker and let it cook in steam for 12 min with closed lid. After 12 mins dismould the thatte idli’s and serve it with chutney and sambar..
