Kokam is commonly used in Konkani and South Indian cuisine.Kokam is a good ayurvedic remedy for pitta and constipation .A good accompaniment is a hot bowl of Rice.It is a substitute for tamrind in rasams.

Ingredients needed
Dried kokum – 8 – 10 or kokum syrup -1/2 cup
Green chiili – 3
few Corriander leaves
Jeera and pepper powder – 1 1/2 tsp
Jaggery – lemon sized

For tempering
Ghee
few Curry leaves
mustard
