Dindigul Thalappakatti Mutton Biryani is one of the most delicious biryani and its very very easy to make.It has a very unique flavor comes from Jeeraa rice ,that is different from other biryanis .It is very famous biryani in Dindigul and its made with Jeera rice.Jeera rice is a very aromatic rice and the grain is very tiny in size and it resembles like Jeera (Cumin Seeds ) and it got its name as Jeera Rice.

Ingreidents Needed are

For Biryani Masala

Star anise – 1
mace – 1
1 inch- Cinnamon stick
4 – cardamom pods
4 – cloves
1 tsp – Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp – fennel seeds
1 tsp – pepper corns
2 tsp – coriander seeds
Stone Flower
Nutmeg

For Mutton Biryani
2 Tbsp Ghee
2 Tbsp Oil

2 bay leaves , 1 inch Cinnamon
1 – Onion
2 Tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
3 green Chilies
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1-2 Tbsp Red Chili Powder
1 – Tomato
1/2 cup – Yogurt / Curd
Handfull coriander and Mint leaves
500gms -Mutton
2 cups – Jeera Rice
3 cups Water

Salt to Taste
